Lyle Fire Hall Remodel

KCFPD#4 addition & remodel

In the spring of 2002 we started building an addition on to the Klickitat Country Fire Protection District #4 (Lyle) fire hall. In June we started remodeling the existing building. This is a community based project with the fire and medical department volunteers supplying much of the labor.

Chief Wayne laid out the rough floor plan and Peter designed the remodel and roof lines. In the above picture you can see the 4 original truck bays on the left (60'x36'), and two of the three new truck bays on the right (55'x55').

KCFPD#4 addition

In the above picture you can see the back of the original building in the background and the new 6" concrete slab in the foreground. The original building was a 20'x24' single bay file hall. A meeting room and bathroom were added sometime later. Next a 40'x36' addition was added to bring the total to 4 bays. The building had three different shed roof lines, inadequate height for some trucks, and insufficient facilities for a growing department.

T1-11 siding was used on two least public sides of the addition (south and east) to save money and time.
