The Lyle Volunteer Fire Department (officially known as Klickitat County Fire Protection District #4) responded to 134 calls in 2019. We are a 100% volunteer department, 17 members strong, with 26 square miles to cover.
We are made up of everyday citizens such as yourself that take pride in supporting the community we live in and train every week to make sure you have the protection you deserve. We have built a strong bond within our department to sustain the needs of this great community.
Lyle Aid, our ambulance, provides Basic Life Support as a first response to medical related incidents in support of Skyline Ambulance Services. We currently have 6 EMT’s and 2 First Responders to aid in the quick steps necessary for an ever important life.
As the outside temperatures begin to warm, our fire response is focused on wildland fires. To support us, we have three active Type VI brush trucks as well as 2 Type III 6×6’s. In support of our trucks, 75% of our department members are also trained at the federal level for wildland fire response and are annually tested to meet the physical standard.
At our main station, we have two pumpers that respond to structure fires, wildland fires, and MVA’s (motor vehicle accidents).
